Inspired by Maps Again

This reminded me of the art maps we looked at really early on in class, and I thought it was cute. I hope everyone had fun with other people's map projects! I know I did. I had Jamie's map of the LRT line with music included, showing how the stations represent or misrepresent Edmonton. I thought the concept was really interesting and I got to hear some cool new songs :)

  2. OOOOh please do tell about the LRT map. My initial map idea was to do something regarding the LRT, since I'm on it so much. Mine was going to be focused more on the stations, though, and their different auras mostly dependent on what time they were built.

What kind of things did Jamie have to say, other than mentioning their perpetual lateness and cringe-inducing greasy handrails? I'm interested in how she involved music, as well!

  3. Hey sorry for not responding sooner! OneArrow: I just found it while I was stumbling lol sorry I don't have a specific source for it :P
Ryan: Actually Jamie's map was pretty focused on the "auras" of the stations and how they fit their locations, including the very different feel of the stations depending on age, ancient or modern. The music usually commented on the overall mood of the station or on geography, with songs about suburbs out by century park and one about fashionable people at Corona. Very cool.
